BRITISH BODYBOARD CLUB TOUR 2011 – STOPS 1 & 2
With non-contestable conditions for bodyboarding forecast for 19-20 March, the first stop on the 2011 British Bodyboard Club Tour – the Sorted Surf Festival at Boscombe has been postponed.
The Festival itself will still be going forward with displays, events and stalls on both days. The sun looks like it’ll be shining on Boscombe, so make sure you get down there for an early season ice cream and support the guys from Sorted.
The bodyboard competition is being deferred at this stage, with a view to a rescheduled date later in the season if conditions allow. The contingency plans are advancing for a 6th tour event in North Cornwall to ensure that everyone has the best chance to get their 3 scoring events under their belt.
Attention now turns to stop 2 on the tour, The NI Portrush Stopover on the weekend of 9-10 April. The event is being hosted by Coleraine Borough Council and facilitated jointly by the Causeway Coast Surf Club and BBC.
There is an ISA Euro selection event taking place at the same time and location; and so the 2 competitions will be co-ordinated to ensure that the Irish bodyboarders are able to compete in both events if they wish.
All the tour events except the British Nationals are open to all-comers; but Competitors are reminded that to accrue BBC Tour points, they must hold a current UK passport and be eligible to represent GB internationally under International Surfing Association by-laws.
